Meet
I consider myself a compassionate, experienced therapist with a warm presence, adept at creating a safe space for you to express yourself and be heard. I offer eighteen years of experience as a social worker and therapist and have helped hundreds of clients navigate the path through emotional terrain that can sometimes feel overwhelming. My passion is helping individuals and couples figure out and fix what’s NOT working in their lives, so they can move forward into the best that’s still to come.
I’m also the mental health columnist for the Denver North Star newspaper. Check out the latest issue at www.denvernorthstar.com
My Approach
My approach is holistic, meaning I assess the whole person - physically, mentally, and spiritually - along with any relevant mental illness diagnosis and significant trauma history. My therapist's toolbox includes an eclectic mix of modalities, such as Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Advanced Integrative Therapy.

My passion for couples counseling stems from witnessing its power in my personal life. I recovered from a divorce after more than 20 years of marriage—I know what it's like to have to reinvent myself as a single person in middle age. It was when I went on to remarry in 2018 that I noticed the same problems (aka "baggage") kept coming up. My new husband and I decided to try therapy as a last ditch effort rather than divorce...and it worked! My interest in learning the art and science of the theory behind couples work led me to complete a post Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University.
